Lolita Latte - Memories (Chapter 6)

“Uh….” Fiena said, about the hug.
Emil let go as soon as he sees her red face and it was confirmed she passed out again. Now that he was out of the water, Mia zapped him some pants and a hood jacket.
He studied her face again.
He held out his hand, brushing hair out of her soft face.
“Looks like somebody’s got a crush on the human,” Alice and Mia sang and teased Emil.
“I…. I can’t help it. She looks exactly like her…” Emil confessed, red in face and hid it away from the girls.
Emil was a pure child. Shy and sensitive. Seeing this unconscious girl in front of him reminded her.
“Daphina…… I’ve missed you.” He thought.
Tears gently began to pile up as he remembered her sweet voice that said, “ We will marry someday.”
***************************************

The young girl was sitting by the lake.
She was the daughter of royalty, the fact that she was wearing beautiful garments, and had jewelry she wasn’t cruel, or snobby.
“I’m Daphina Murdoc! I’m the princess!” she giggled sweetly.
“Oh… I’m Emil Isaac. I’m a prince merman.” He smiled shyly.
The two children were aged 5, one was by the lake and one was in the lake, resting his arms on a flat rock.
It was a start of a beautiful friendship that might blossom into love.

The 10 year old witch ran swiftly, she was well-known for her optimistic, cheery and sweet smile to the creatures. If she was wandering towards the Dark woods, even the foulest creature wouldn’t have the heart to destroy this child. It’s not that the reason she was royalty, it was that people can see that she has a beautiful soul and pure heart.
“Emil?” she asked, finding her friend. In the age 10, her platinum hair grew longer and she wore it into pigtails with her ribbons of her favourite colors; turquoise and white.
“Yea?” he responded, head out of water.
She just smiled, turned his body, facing his back and put something on his neck.
It was a necklace.
“Huh?” he asked.
“It’s a magical thing grandmother taught me how to make. It has the powers to turn your tail into a pair of legs, once you are out of the water.” She explained, still smiling.
He took one look at it. He didn’t want to be out of the water. He was scared. He heard stories of frightening beasts out of the water.
“I made it because I always see you so lonely in there. Even though I can swim, I can’t exactly be in your home not longer than an hour. I made it so you can play here, with me. On the land.” She said.
He was happy to hear that and immediately got out of the water.
Daphina gave him some clothes to wear, of course.
He had fun out of the water, pretty soon, the necklace he wore was made so many, other mermaids wanted to buy it.
She taught and helped him how to walk, run, skip , jump and even  do a back flip.

A 16 year old Emil was walking around the palace.
“Emil?” a voice called out to him.
“Huh?” he wandered, turning around to find Daphina standing there.
And, as always she’s cheerful and a smile never slept from her beautiful face.
“I’ve heard we’re engaged now,  well, from the maids and staff.’ She said, blushing.
“Aye….” he replied, blushing harder.
“I’m so happy my ring is diamond!” she squeals, holding her hands out to reveal her soft right hand, and in her ring finger, a perfectly shaped golden ring and a fine shape of a diamond placed there.
“Really?” he chuckled. “Mine’s Emerald.”
Their laughter and close bond was spied by the maids and butlers.
“How do you think we’ll live?” she giggled.
“Like in the stories, happily of course…” he blushed and smiled.

A year later, it was their engagement party.
Daphina was wearing a perfectly soft cream white satin dress, a white chocker decorated with fine diamonds, white diamond earrings decorating her ears, white satin gloves with diamond bracelets, and white sandals with finally, diamonds.  And her platinum blond hair was made into an elegant fish plait with turquoise ribbons and a golden tiara with pure diamonds.
She really loved diamonds.
He, wore a white military tuxedo which looked rather fine on a young gentleman like him.
They were standing in the gardens of the palace, where all the royals and nobles were seated on fine carven white chairs, decorated with ribbons and lace.
Everyone was congratulating the young couple. Just a few more days to their grand wedding.
Their hands held tight, and not leaving each other.
Their calm, peaceful and perseveres was interrupted by a loud, ugly “SQWAKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“It’s the *Harpy!”
“Run for your souls!”
“We better run from that damned creature!!!!!!!”
Were the words from the people.
It was a havoc scene, people running everywhere, some smaller creatures were crushed and it was a fearsome bloodbath.
“Daphina, run!” shouted her mother, Serafina.
As she and Emil was about to run, the Harpy was faster.
She grabbed the young girl and running  off with her.
Usually, when Harpys grabbed their pray, they intend to eat it, or keep it forever, tormenting their poor souls.
All that left of Daphina was the tiara that dropped from her pretty little head, and the fear in her screams when she was grabbed by the beast.
“NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!” Emil screamed in sadness.
*****************************
Mia and Alice stopped their teasing.
Emil was in soft tears.
“You okay? Sorry if we tortured you so hard.” Mia apologized softly, feeling bad.
“I’m fine. I just missed her, that’s all” He shook his head.
In over the years, he learned to keep his emotions, so he was stoic to that mermaids that tried to seduce him. But, every time he remembered her, tears won’t stop.
Underwater, he was the most attractive merman, and in addition, he was the prince, so it adds up that he was rich and respected.
“Are…..you.. okay?”a voice asked.
It was Fiena.
She, who always had been so shy to boys, suddenly brushed the tears from his eyes.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” she said, moving her hand away, blushing as she did so.
“It’s fine…” he smiled shylike.
*A Harpy is a creature which has a woman’s face, but the body of a bird.
